Founder and CEO
The ISEN Group
As founder and CEO of the ISEN Group, Jerry Alex Smith is an entrepreneur with expertise in multimedia strategic communications, with deep experience in media campaigns, marketing, advertising and fundraising. A well-respected networker and connector, Jerry works with celebrity clients to leverage their star power to inspire and drive sustainable philanthropy, awareness and urgency to improve the lives of people and communities across the United States and around the world.
Jerry is currently at work producing a documentary, “ISEN30 Project,” to highlight celebrity philanthropy – drawing on 30 years of never-before-seen video footage that he has captured – to help promote and strengthen nonprofit programs, projects and organizations. The documentary is part of Jerry’s vision to launch a social media movement that transforms the way everyone – from celebrities to everyday people – engage popular platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to support nonprofits and charitable organizations to help build stronger communities.
A former journalist and longtime videographer, Jerry has amassed what is believed to be the largest, privately held video library of footage from the fundraising events, including never-before-seen video of legendary icons such as Michael Jackson, Muhammad Ali, Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor and Diahann Carroll.
Jerry’s professional experience includes working as a media consultant for clients such as the U.S. Department of Tourism, the U.S. AIDS Commission, the Minority Health Commission and the Centers for Disease Control. A three-time Emmy-nominated producer, Jerry was also national publicist for programming at ACB TV in Los Angeles and was the first black sportswriter, while in college, for the Los Angeles Times, covering high school and college sports.
